IIn December of 1994 after our four children left home to begin their own lives, my husband, Bill, and I left the hectic city life of Atlanta for retirement at our Lake Burton cabin and the mountains. I had always been a “crafter” using nuts, pinecones and the like to make wreaths, topiaries and various decorations, cutting and pasting for decoupage and doing tole painting. A friend suggested “watercolor” and a new world opened for me. The excitement of seeing colors mix and mingle – forming “surprises” on the paper makes time spent in my studio an adventure as well as a challenge.  The changing seasons, the peace and beauty of the lake and mountains that surround me provide constant inspiration and subjects -- Red Canoe, Blue Reflections and Solitude. My whimsical side is found in my Red Fish Fantasy series and the series of funky fish note cards. I have studied with Dianne Mize and have attended workshops given by Pat Weaver, Tony Couch, Charles Reid and Zoltan Szabo.

Red Canoe was the cover for the May, 2006 issue of Rabun’s Laurel magazine and Solitude was An Artful 2008 calendar cover published by Katheryn Granberg. I also did the cover art for an issue of Mountain Review. I have been an active member of the North Georgia Arts Guild for 10 years.
